Hot Stones

I don’t do a traditional hot stone massage with just static placement of the stones. My technique is very different; I use the stones as a tool. Not only are they effective — it also feels AMAZING! And the benefits are even better.

I use a combination of river and Black Obsidian stones that I was lucky enough to procure from Chiché Itzá Yucatán Mexico. When purchasing the stones, I was told that they are imbued with protective energies against mental stress and negative thoughts.

In Feng Shui, these stones are thought to clear out obstacles in one’s career and life path. As well, these very special stones retain heat extremely well, allowing for deeper penetration into the muscles, welcoming in a deeper release.

Deep tissue with hot stones has to be my favorite massage to perform.
An experience worth having. The majority of my guests that try it, love it! A little something your muscles will very much appreciate. And because of the way I use these stones they can be added to any treatment including pregnancy. So good!

Deep Tissue

When people hear the words deep tissue massage they likely envision a therapist roughly digging their elbows or fist into their muscles. Aggressive and painful — something that may feel good in a couple of days once the pain subsides.

I don’t believe in this technique. My way is very different, as I believe firmly that a deep tissue massage is still a massage and should still be an enjoyable experience while you’re on the table.

I work slow and with your own breathing incorporating Focused Breathing. I never go beyond anything one cannot handle. I’m basically knocking on the door gently to be let inside — not beating it down. In all honesty, most of my clients actually fall asleep during my deep tissue massage.

This massage is quickly becoming popular because of its ability to give you the best of both worlds.

Not everyone wants their massage spent on deep tissue or just relaxation. And so, the combo lets you get that focus work in and also a chance to relax. Pregnancy massage

I have always heard from pregnant women that every time they get a pregnancy massage from other places that they leave disappointed.

The main reason is that therapists are always too light with the massage and are afraid to give the pressure they want to feel relief. With my many years of experience, I’ve never had a pregnant guest go into labor by adding a little more pressure. Many therapists dislike performing this service but I absolutely love it. Being a father of four, I have seen the many benefits of a pregnancy massage.

Focused Breathing

This is something I have developed over the years. I began to incorporate focused breathing before I gave it a name.

I don’t remember learning this anywhere other than from experience. It is really important to remember to breathe and to also breathe at the right moment during your massage. I’ve learned that your breath is in control of your release.

Don’t worry if you forget to breathe because I’m right there breathing with you. This technique has taken my massage to another level. Allowing for a deeper and more calming release.

Chair Massage

Perfect for events and parties. Very different from being on a massage table, but still very effective. Mainly focusing on the torso from the low, mid, and upper back. Along with the neck, shoulders, scalp, and arms.

Over the years I’ve worked many chair massage events with many companies that host. Most recently I started working with a dental office in Downtown Los Angeles that gives their patients chair massages before their treatments. Allowing their patients to be relaxed and calm before receiving any treatments. It’s very effective!

Stretching

Over the years I have learned and developed a series of stretching techniques that really help elongate muscles. I’ve discovered, when added to a massage, stretching parts of the body that have already been worked on allows for a better release.

Stretching is so important as it helps keep muscles strong, healthy, and flexible which is important to keep range of motion within the joints. People often say “as we age we shrink.” I like to think it’s because we aren’t stretching enough. Not stretching causes our muscles to shorten and get tight which puts you at risk for strains, joint pain and muscle damage. So let’s get you on my table or massage mat get bring back that range of motion.

Cranial Sacral Therapy

Sometimes my clients will want their whole session spent on their scalp. That’s how amazing this modality can be. You’re probably wondering “what can you possibly do to the cranium for an hour or longer?”

Believe it or not there is so much, as this bodywork is done slowly with no creams or oils. I’ve had my clients tell me that they would feel a shift in their jaw or feel some kind of release in their next, ears and even less pressure in their head.

There are many other symptoms that can be alleviated like; chronic pain, joint stiffness, depression, anxiety, spinal cord injuries, and even anger.

Ionic Foot Detox

This is a foot soak that uses water charged with positive and negative ions – electrolytes – which helps draw toxins from your body out through your feet through a process of exchange between the positive and negative ions in your body, and their opposite numbers in the water.

The ionic foot bath is based on the bioenergetics technology that creates an energy field similar to the human body’s. The principal is similar to how a magnet works, except in this case the magnetic force functions to help cancel out and eliminate harmful free radicals and other toxins from the body.

The Benefits of an Ionic Foot bath:

  • Helps reduce and relieve migraines and headaches

  • Can help improve and clear up skin conditions

  • Increases natural energy levels

  • Helps improve quality of sleep and relaxation

  • Helps boost immune system and helps fight off viruses

  • Relieves muscle and joint pain and swelling

“Customization is very important and should be the focus of my services.

Everyone is different and doesn’t want or need the same thing. Communication plays a big roll in the customization of every massage. It’s important to me, to always pay attention to my guest and their specific needs.”

Body Mechanics

By definition Body mechanics means exercises designed to improve posture, coordination, and stamina.

What I do is help you find the best way to help you become more mindful of your posture and coordination. For example, as a massage therapist, if I don’t use my hips in motion with my arms then I’m just working my upper body to perform a massage. This will result in me overreaching and over extending my arms causing me to use more energy and eventually cause muscle fatigue and shortening the longevity in my craft. Using my core to move my hips in correlation with my arms will allow for a better flow which will increase stamina and longevity.

Unfortunately, we all weren’t taught how to use our bodies correctly. Creating a comfortable workspace with mindful movement and being aware of your surroundings is how I can help you to achieve proper body mechanics.
